How long do location services take?
Location services can take anywhere from one minute to hours depending on the layout of the land being searched and how thick the cover is in the area. For game, many factors come into play such as shot placement or if the animal has been dead long enough to lose its heat signature (up to 48 hours for large game). For game, people, or pets, the sooner we start the search, the better.
How will you know the animal you find is the animal I shot?
You tell me. Upon arrival, you can share any photos or video you have, if available. You can share remarkable characteristics and where you think you placed the shot. The drone footage is very clear (200x zoom from 400′) and the drone has a spotlight for nighttime searches. We may be able to see certain antler characteristics, wounds, an arrow, or details such as scars or spots.
What happens if the game I hit is still alive when found?
I will pinpoint the location where the animal was last located. I can come back and find it again when it dies, or you can go track it after waiting for the deer to expire. Although it may seem the most ethical, you cannot just kill the animal. It is illegal in the state of WI to kill an animal within 24 hours of locating it with a drone.
Can you find my pet that has been missing for a week?
Locating missing pets can be more challenging than locating wounded or dead animals. Depending on the pet, they may stay near home or circle their way back toward their last known location. Others may be found hours away. We would start our search where the pet was last seen and increase the search radius for as long as you would like us to look. The sooner we start the search, the better.
How far are you willing to travel?
I am willing to travel throughout Wisconsin if I am available; however, I may require prepayment of mileage fees if traveling more than 60 miles roundtrip.
